Multi-Million Dollar Modern Architecture in South Florida

Posted on 3/23/2016 6:03:27 PM

The South Florida cities in our portfolio have a history of attracting architectural talent – the most famous of which is perhaps Addison Mizner (1872–1933), whose style and influence can still be seen throughout the region. This trend continues today as developers continue to flock to this tropical paradise to unleash their creativity and modern style. In this blog post, we’ll take a look at some examples of luxurious modern architecture and interior design in South Florida.

A Modern Masterpiece of Architecture and Interior Design

Set on the Intracoastal Waterway, this stunningly designed and furnished estate is the collaboration of high-end builder J.H. Norman Construction Company, innovative architect George Brewer, award-winning Marc-Michaels Interior Design (twice named on Architectural Digest’s annual AD100 list of the world’s top architects and designers), and landscape architect Dave Bodker.

The five-bedroom residence is a livable work of art based on sleek modular forms, tactile natural finishes, and the latest technologic advances. A one-of-a-kind masterpiece, this sensational waterfront estate goes beyond every expectation.

Encased in Caribbean coral-stone and impact-glass spans, the bold architecture adds warm contrast with Neolith panels imported from Spain and African sapele wood.

Transparent impact-glass walls help join the interiors to the outdoor entertainment area while providing a gorgeous view of the Intracoastal Waterway stretching to the iconic landmark Boca Raton Resort (one of Mizner’s most well-known buildings).

The bespoke kitchen showcases Italian-crafted Casa Mia cabinetry in contrasting matte lacquer and quarter-sawn-oak finishes, Caesarstone counters, a custom-designed marble backsplash, and Kallista Multiere sink. Window walls brighten two sides of the open family/breakfast room with media center.

Sharing the fireplace, the window-walled club room has handsomely warm finishes featuring a “floating” mahogany slat ceiling and custom granite-and-wenge-wood wet bar for entertaining. At nightfall, these elements set an exotic mood for memorable evening gatherings.

“In the past few years Palm Beach County has definitely seen an increase in demand for upscale modern and contemporary homes and condos,” said Mr. Norman. “The key to being successful with modern designs is working with professionals who truly have a passion and understanding for this style of architecture. The finished product should stay true to its modern roots by utilizing clean, simplified, functional designs, while maintaining a warm and inviting living environment.”
